Regional Passport Office, Sherpur is a government institution under the control of Directorate of Immigration and Passports. 

Starting from 2013 by renewing Handwritten Passports in rented house, Regional Passport Office, 
Sherpur has been issuing Machine Readable Passports (MRP) since December 01, 2014 as per 
the government’s promise to build Digital Bangladesh. 

Following this, the journey of E-Passport has been started on October 14, 2020. 

The operation of Regional Passport Office, Sherpur has been started in its own building at 
Nabinagar Nayapara area on the eastern side of Sherpur-Nakla road on May 28, 2023 AD. 

During the last 03 years (from 01/07/2020 AD to 30/06/2023 AD) 6,557 (six thousand five hundred and fifty seven) 
MRP applications have been submitted and 6,440 (six thousand four hundred and forty) MRPs have been delivered 

and  15,887 (fifteen thousand eight hundred and eighty seven) e-passport applications has been submitted and 
14,605 (fourteen thousand six hundred and five) e-passports has been distributed.
